"BREA was founded in 1959. With the passage of the Real Estate (Brokers and Salesmen) Act, 1995, BREA was empowered by law to oversee the practice of real estate business throughout the Bahamas and to ensure that all realtors are licensed for the protection of the general public. Any person requiring real estate services should first determine if a realtor is actually licensed. This can be achieved by simply requesting to see a copy of the realtor's license, or by simply contacting the Bahamas Real Estate Association at (242) 356-4578 for confirmation.

BREA has licensed more than 600 qualified individuals as Bahamas Real Estate Brokers, Salesmen, Appraisers or Developers. Our realtors, on the whole, are as qualified and professional as most realtors in the United States through mandatory education and testing for license requirements and adherence to a strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

It is said that an investment in real estate is by far the single-most largest investment that any individual will ever make. Therefore, you should seek the professional services of a BREA licensed realtor to ensure that you get the sound investment advice you require."

President
